A hotel room

I'm in a hotel room in Albuquerque, New Mexico! I have to admit the it smells a little funny, but it's not too bad for a night! Anyway, I'm writing on my mom's laptop and tomorrow night I will be somewhere around Tulsa, Oklahoma, there I will get to see some relatives, and eat turkey with them!! We will stay until the day after Thanksgiving and begin our approximately 20 hour journey back home!! What a looooooonngg trip!! But only for around 2 days so it's not that bad. I'm kinda sad about Arlo ( Who I wrote about in the last post ) because he got an infection on his leg and now he has to take 2 capsules and 1 pill!! *unhappy face So I hope he is doing okay someone we know is staying at our house and taking care of him. I wish I would start feeling better because I have a hoarse ( Not horse ) throat but I am feeling better then earlier today.

That's it! Good night!

Arlo The Muntant Lamp Shade

Hi I have to admit that yes, this title seams to be a little odd, ( even on Halloween ) but, most of my posts start with a funny sounding title to catch attention. But as you all know Arlo is my dog, if you didn't know that find my last post my clicking older post at the bottom right of the screen a bunch of times. Anyhow, Arlo is my dog and unfortunately he seamed to get a big scrape on the inside of the his back hind leg some time ago, no big deal right? I mean, Arlo gets cuts all the time and this wound wasn't deep, it was just wide. But nope, Arlo proved us wrong. After a while we began to notice it was healing. We didn't really know why but finally we did find out that Arlo himself was picking at his scrape. So what we did was use duct tape of course! My dad wrapped Arlo's leg up with duct tape so that he couldn't lick and chew his injury. Well, it seamed to work so after it had scabbed up nicely and some skin began to grow on it then me and Dad decided to take off the bandage because we though for shore that Arlo would not just tear up his skin and mess it up. WRONG he DID chew it up and after all that switching bandages and so on we were back at square one. After that Arlo
seamed to have figured out that he could tear off the duct tape very easily if he wanted to so every time we wrapped it he would make a hole in it. I might know what your thinking, that if we just bough one of those cones that you put around a dog's head to keep them from messing with that kind of thing then why go to all that trouble? But me and Dad thought that a cone would terrify Arlo soooo much we would try to work around it as much as possible. So as a last thing to do we made a nice, thick, padded bandage, then put a chunk of plastic over where the scrape was and taped tape over that, and THEN Dad had found out that Arlo didn't like the smell of permanent marker so he scribbled that onto the tape over the plastic over the tape that was over the paper towel padding that was over the cut!!! The day after that Dad took Arlo to the vet to get his rabies shot. While he was at the vet they told him that we would have to keep the scrape in the open air. So after all that bandaging we finally found out that we couldn't do that anymore! So Dad bought a bottle of bitter stuff made for dogs who wont leave things they aren't allowed to lick alone hoping that that would work. To make a long story short: It didn't. Oh GREAT just great, the only thing we could possibly do so that Arlo didn't get an infection and get sick was get or make a cone. So this morning Dad made Arlo a cone out of plastic coated cardboard. When we got it on to the now Cone Head as we call him he all he would do was back up and thrash around to try to get out of this device. after he had calmed down he just lied down and wouldn't really move. I had to get food which he LOVES and lead him around the backyard so he would get used to walking around being able to only see what is in front of him. He still gets stuck on things once in a while but he is doing much better!!
PS: what are you doing for halloween? I'm gonna help out at our church for Rock the Block!

Knotts Berry Farm

Hello, I don't know if you knew but I went to California last month!! We stayed with my aunt's after hotel and Sea World tickets fell through, and then went to Knotts Berry Farm with some of our relatives!! It was one of the most fun times that I can remember and I still am sad that it's over. I wonder if other people get a time to be with fun people and do fun things like I get to do. I hope so! So yeah, we stayed at my aunt's house for almost three days I think. I wish I had pictures, but I was being pretty lazy about that! Anyway I had sooooo much fun and I want to say thanks to K-9lovr for letting us stay at your house, and I hope I see you soon!

Creepy Crawly Attack III

Saturday morning, 9\12\09

Up and at um! rise and shine! Wow I was really tired!! I got up put on my jeans and T-shirt and my shoes and socks and decided to go out onto the porch where my mom and dad were sitting. I was still kinda scared about walking barefoot around the cabin, but what could I do? I was reminded as I started putting on my tennis shoes of all the dirt that had built up in them, so I decided to dump them out. As I came down the stairs from the loft I made shore to check the corner where all the 'excitement' had happened yesterday night. All was clear. I stepped outside in the fresh morning, said hi to Mom and Dad, then found myself and seat and started emptying the dirt and dust. I had noticed that someone had put the box right side up again and it had clothes spread out over the top. I thought it was my shirt and shorts I had been wearing the day before and I knew that Mom had taken my clothes and put them outside to get the smoke smell out of them. So I asked Mom if those were my clothes because I didn't really want them to be on the same box that held on of the biggest spiders I had seen! But no, they were just my dad's stuff and he doesn't mind that kind of thing. Then I remembered that we had joked about finding a spider leg in the door so I checked just to make shore, of course I found nothing. I sat back down and THC's mom came out. She talked a little and then started to go in through the other door that lead to the dinning room. "Oh, well here's our spider" I herd her say very calmly. I got up and ran over to where she found him. There he was sitting in another corner, of course he did look much smaller than in the house. So my dad came to look at him for the first time while THC's mom went back inside. So Dad finds the broom, which luckily was right there, and starts sweeping the little guy down the stairs. What could go wrong now? The spider was almost gone! But nope, I was once again wrong. Our eight-legged friend had gotten stuck, upside down, on a crack in the wood on the step!! It's hard to imagine how something that looked so big could get stuck on something so small, but hey, that's life! So finally, Dad did get him off the step by doing this: getting a stick and snagging the spiders front legs on it and carrying him up, of the ground until it fell off. After that we decided that he was far away enough from the cabin so we just left him there.
A little while later me and THC ( who unfortunately wasn't there when the spider was found the second time ) decided to go and check on him. I was kinda sad when I saw him because he looked like he had died. He was all shriveled up and very small looking. I think he might have had to much contact with humans. So we started taking pictures of him but of course, we couldn't get a good shot, but still, it was nice because he was staying so still! So after a short time I was going to say good-bye to him because we where going to leave but when we got there something surprised us very much. HE WAS GONE.

We though he must have been eaten by a bird, but with all the bad luck with spiders I can picture him crawling into the car... ( I guess we'll never know )

look very closely in the centur of the picture and there he is shriveled up!

Creepy Crawly Attack II
Friday night, 9\11\09
Whew! it shore was felt good to shower after getting in all that smoke!! After we had finished playing with fire and roasting marsh mellows in the fire pit my brother, THC, her mom, and I all decided we defiantly needed to wash up! I think I had just finished taking a shower down stairs and then going up stair to brush my teeth, when I slowly and carefully waddled down the soft, wooden steps. Step, by step, by step, by step, by step, by step,... I can remember clearly thinking of my really really sore feet and legs and knees when finally, I remember turning to the right and stepping of the last of the stairs. It seams like it went in slow motion as I started to turn my head, preparing to go sharp right, when my very own eyes detected something that was strung out, gray and black, very fuzzy and less than 12 inches away from my foot! I knew from very previous encounters exactly what it was. Yup, you got it, a HUGE ( or so it seamed huge ) spider was right there in the corner! It stood very still and looked like a cross between a Daddy long leg and a Tarantula, with long, and spaced out legs. The first thing I did was yell WHOA!! THERE IS A HUGE SPIDER RIGHT HERE!!!!!! and at the same time jump on the edge of the couch where THC joined me. Right after I said that did my mom and THC's mom come running to see what I was talking about. The spider hadn't moved and my guess now would be that he was as scared as me! I was still sitting on the couch which my brother had been sitting on before me when Mom said, "Wow! that is one big spider" and I'm shore the rest of us agreed! Unfortunately, Dad had just gotten in the shower so THC's mom got a fly swatter and the box that we had put all the trash that we could burn in the fire. The box was empty so she ( THC's mom ) put it on the ground in front of the spider, then attempted to tempt it into thinking the box was safe by using the fly swatter. I was afraid that the little guy would go in to the small crack in the wood behind him! But before you knew it he went into the box!! Once it was in, THC's mom tipped the box right side up and you could hear the spider's legs scampering about in the box so loud that a person might think a small rat was inside it! We opened the door and pushed the box closer and closer to it. ( It's probably a good thing the door is so close the the stairs because I think the spider could have crawled out if we had let him ) The next think you knew was that THC's mom had gently tossed the box onto the porch. But one thing went wrong! the box had landed with the open side facing the door, and the spider was running as quick as anything to the open doorway!!! "Ahhh!" we screamed. SLAM went the door! About five seconds after that we all started cracking up. THC's mom explained how she meant to toss the box facing the opposite direction. Then, I was told to finish getting ready for bed, and then get in bed and watch the movie me and THC had picked to watch.

Attack of the eight legged creepy things

Hi!! good to see ya! I was in Pason at the same cabin I've written about from Thursday to Saturday. ( You are probably wondering about this title, and no wonder!! It may sound kinda weird but I promise that no 'eight legged creepy things' ( spiders ) were completely squashed in this... Oh wait! I forgot about when dad... On second thought, I think I should start at the beginning.

Thursday night, 9\10\09

We were There!!!! The cabin where me, my friend and blog Buddie THC, her mom, my parents, and my brother had just arrived. We had driven from Phoenix AZ for around three hours, when we got there we started to un-pack and put all of our stuff into the cabin. After we had finished un-loading and showing all the people who had not been there before around, we all decided to start walking up to the bunk-house which is right next to the cabin, and also where me and THC were planing to sleep for the next two nights. It was really dark as it usually is out in the woods as almost everyone but THC's mom who had stayed a little behind walked into the porch area and opened the door. You always have to be careful when you go into the bunk-house because you really don't want moths or any other bugs to come inside, so we quickly turned on the light and shut the door. Once we showed everyone around in the room THC's mom came in. Then some of us started to remove certain pillows and turn the sitting thing into a bed. All of a sudden, I moved a pillow and a small and very fast brown thing quickly crawled down between the wall and bed. "What was that!!" I said kinda startled. It had looked almost like a good sized cricket A couple other people had seen it too so we moved the bed around and then we saw it again! It was a big brown spider with a large body and very bent legs. This spider seam to 'crawl' rather than 'walk' unlike some bigger and slower moving ones do. As you may have guessed I was really creeped out! When I though I saw something on the rug crawling at me I completely jumped into THC's mom. I am usually not very afraid of spiders and I kinda like the small ones but this one I definitely did not like, maybe because it could move so fast. So my dad takes this tissue or paper towel and just put his hand over it and I though he grabbed it but then we couldn't find the spider anywhere! Finally Dad found it and it was dead enough!! After that Me and THC did NOT want to sleep in there!!!!!! So we settled down in the loft in stead.

PS: After that my brother found one in his room!!!
