Unfolding the Act

You see that girl over there?
---Uh huh, the one in the corner with the smile on her face. She's one of them. One of the ones who knows the ropes. Everyone sees the confidence she carries around with her, and the way that she's able to use it as a mask. They don't think she's a hero. They just think she's good at what she does: faking. And that's admirable around here.
Most of these people can see right through you, but they take into account just how cleverly you hide the burden on your back. You're judged on your stage performance. You're loved for the brilliance of your finest masquerade. And hey, don't worry---it'll get easier to act as time goes on. Sooner or later, you'll be a whiz at it. Just like that girl who I was talking about.

The girl who gets all the applause for being everything she isn't.

Being around people makes me inquisitive about their mindsets. I like to explore what goes on in the noggin. That's where the inspiration for this short soliloquy came from. It's sad to think about how many people who are considered friends and acquaintances, and yet have never known the feeling of being real with someone.

Be ready people: There are so many hearts to be unfolded in this world. Kind of like doing the laundry in reverse.

Nighty-night,
K-Minty
