♪ I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts! ♫

The coconut song. It's great.

Today was the first day of VBS week at our church, so part of me feels like singing along with Scar and Zazu at the top of my lungs.

Imagine that I'm in a little cardboard box on the top of a slick, grassy, and three-week-tall hill. Today marks the day that somebody gave me a little push from behind. For the next month or so of my lazy-dazy life, I will be riding like the wind in my little cardboard box. I have business after mad business, and I seriously can't wait for it.

I hope I'll accumulate some good stories to tell. Maybe even some fantabulous pictures to show off or something.

Of course, I happen to know one thing for sure: when I've hit the bottom of the hill, I know that for a minute, I'll look up, and think to myself:
"If only I could be back at the top, excited, ready, and rearing to go. If only I could still be on the hill and feel the breeze in my face, and have the wind tickle against my eyelashes. I wish I could climb up and begin again."
But then---oh wonder it be!---I'll look forward and ahead, seeing to my surprise: A whole new set of hills! Together, they form a giant mountain. Steep, narrow, shallow, wide, rough, smooth---at every incline, there's a new adventure to experience, and a new story to unfold.

Now, I only hope that the bottom of my box will last me the trip. Otherwise, I might have to resort to rolling down the whole way.

I guess we all have cardboard box journeys. Our mountains might be tedious; and sometimes we might find a bump in the road. And though the mountain might be scary (or very very boring) there is much joy and beauty to breath in on the wild ride down.

Have a nice trip! ;)
