Pretend that just a few minutes, you heard a suspiciously loud clunk and looked outside the window that's right behind you there, only to find a time machine sitting proudly on the lawn.
---That's not to say that you know it's a time machine for sure (for all you know, it could be an alien nuke...but no matter), but it looks to be what you generally picture whenever you picture a time machine. It's not the TARDIS. It's just a time machine. That's it.
Well anyway, you head outside to your lawn and ultimately out to your garden gnome's new acquaintance. Now, your a little intimidated (after all, who wouldn't be---what with the smoke and fumes coming from the piece of ingenuity). Still, your curiosity gets the best of you, and you step or leap or skip yourself into this time-defying mechanism.
The moment you're in, you feel yourself falling...fallllllling...FALLING.
AND THEN YOU HIT YESTERDAY.
Good. Now I can write you a St. Valentine's Day post.

In honor of the blessed February the Fourteenth, I though I might share with you some words of wisdom. The following are golden nuggets of worthy truth, and very much describe the four loves respectively.
Do with them what you will.
“Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so
vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means
that someone can get inside you and mess you up.”
~ Neil Gaiman
“Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.”
~ Robert A. Heinlein
“If you judge people, you have no time to love them.”
~ Mother Teresa
“We’re all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find
someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them
and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness—and call it love—true love.”
~ Robert Fulghum
“Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.”
~ Alfred Tennyson
“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will
be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it
intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully
round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock
it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that
casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be
broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love
is to be vulnerable.”
~ C.S. Lewis
"Love is when you're missing some of your teeth but you're not afraid to smile because you know your friends will still love you even though some of you is missing."
~ Emma K., age 6
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it
is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily
angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but
rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always
hopes, always perseveres.”
~ The Holy Bible
On Wednesday I was asked to draw a picture on a large white poster board with oil pastels. I was a happy clam, drawing and depicting to my heart's content and desire. It is a lovely thing to be an artist.
The poster was allegedly "a billboard of what our bible study topic was". Naturally, the topic was on love---all the different loves---Agape, Phillipa, and the rest.
Well I do confess that I was quite proud of my picture. It was not completed, and I intend on working on it throughout the space of several Wednesday nights. Nevertheless, its grey outline holds promise.
After we were finished for the night, and after I stored my poster board and pastels into "safe" places (the storage hold---err---closet? miffed me a bit) until my next return to youth group, my youth pastor handed me free reign to do what I wanted to do with my soon-to-be-masterpiece. It should be noted that he also coughed out the idea of including a Bible verse somewhere on my progressing piece of art (I might add that yes, this idea crossed my mind as well).
However, I also had the inkling to print out numerous quotes about love (like the ones above) and pin them to the poster board, making a sort of collage out of it.
Hmm.
That is my story.
Rather, me telling you what I think about concerning something that is, ten to one, completely irrelevant to you.
See? Aren't my stories great?
So that aside, happy Valentine's Day. But it's too late---I've eaten all of the heart-shaped cookies that you sent me this morning. Here is your time machine, I've set it properly in order for you to return to the exact moment that you left tomorrow. Please don't tamper with the doodleybob.
Good night,
Kismint

"Machine"
You're a piece, a piece on a board
A head on a plate, a coin on the floor
You're fighting hard, you're in the game
You've got your edge: you're a rising name
They've placed their bets, they've cast their lots
You're in their heads---you're in their thoughts
The pressure's on, the clock is ticking
The wait is gone, you're bent on winning
You've jumped ahead, you've crossed the line
You've psyched them out but you're still behind
You're a machine, a work of art
But with nothing more then a mechanical heart
"A Drop of Rain"
Swirly, twirly, drop of rain, find us in the sand
Send us word of home and pray: That we see our land
The land of promise, far ahead
And far away it lies
But hope from far above us fall,
And help our spirits rise
Send us word from loved ones, whom we miss so dear
The darling children and the wives, who's love remains sincere
Give us perseverance,
to weather yonder storm
And let us live in patience,
Through every troubled morn
"Founding Faltered End"
"Founding Faltered End"
Oh willow-wand and snowy brook
I do so long for you
To comfort me with word and book
And sing a short debut
In these walls and secret eve
Where shadows play in peace
I long to hear a word of love
And loneliness to cease
Darkness dares the heart to cry
In pain of foolish whim
So real were once both you and I
But found a faltered end
"Winter Exits"
Strike the flame
Start the fire
Burn the match
Blow desire
Beat the embers
Into light
And stroke the coals
Our heats ignite
Leave the wintry wasteland
Turn back from frosty eve
Send the withered snowman
Back upon his knees
Beat the biting cold
That treads in icy glare
And send this withered world
To a warmer worker's care
"Beacon Light"
Beacon light, beacon light, of feint star glimmering
Beacon light, beacon light, of feint star glimmering
Be our hopes and faith tonight through foggy glistening
Lead us forth to quiet docks, which stormy seas so loathe
And take us to the humble place of peaceful hearth and home
Guide us in the peril, through rocks of turmoil rage
And bear our path of yonder straight, oh light of golden age
Beacon light oh beacon light, eternal flame afar
Send us safely onto land by dawn of morning star
"The Clock"
I'm just a clock on the shelf top
I'm just a clock on the shelf top
Singing my old worker's song
I sit in the silence of your day job
And in silence is where I belong
I tick and I tock with the straightest face
I keep to my own charming rhyme
But everyone heeds me, for when I speak
I tell you the secret of time
And in silence is where I belong
I tick and I tock with the straightest face
I keep to my own charming rhyme
But everyone heeds me, for when I speak
I tell you the secret of time

What dost thou think, hm?
Two of these I wrote a number of nights ago before I fell asleep. All the others I just now typed up. I think this is the first time that I've ever jotted down titles for my poems.
I'm rather fond of my clock composition.
I'm rather fond of my clock composition.
Do tell which ones you do and don't like.
Also, do you enjoy poems that rhyme or go on with more of an abstract and less uniform line?
I'll talk to you soon,

"You try to speak, But it's out of our hands"
Caution to you: Today I'm feeling terrible because I want to write but I can't settle down enough to do it. After listening to a few [of the nice] Ed Sheeran songs (yeah...choose which songs of his you add to your playlist carefully), I suddenly wanted to go off on a melancholy rant of gibberish and then put it to guitar music. But my attempt was destined to fail because as of now, guitar is not my forte, and so I made a salad-bugish poem instead.
Unfortunately for you, brave reader, this poemy-thing was composed and re-composed over different points of my day---some points when I wanted to write a song and some points when I wanted to write prose (and all when I was in differing moods).
It rhymes sometimes. But it's meant to be a crude rhyme in some places and no rhyme at others.
The tempo is slow. The words are abstract to the point of no meaning. Have fun.
___
When we sing
I can see the stars beneath the blankets of the night
When you laugh
I can hear the rain from the sky
When it hits the sand
So breath
Breath it in
In and out
Take a break
Tear it up
Tear us down
___
Yup. Exhibit A of what it looks like when I want to write a poem, a song, and a novella all at once---and then mix it up together and add random bits and pieces to it throughout random moments of the day.
Oh! If you could only see what else is on the inside of my brain!
But nay, t'would be rather tragic if that were so.
I'm sorry that I don't have anything else for you right now. There are a few things that I've been wanting to share, but those things will have to wait.
Until another random time and place of K-Minty's antics,

When you laugh
I can hear the rain from the sky
When it hits the sand
If you close your eyes
I'll sit and stay for a while
And you'll whisper hello to the strangers
And we watched the broken window
You'll glue it back together
I'll try to help
But I can't understand
You try to speak
But it's out of our hands
I can't help but pretend I see
Because even in the dark there's a firefly
Even when it's a simple truth
I't won't be
There's a crescent in the candle tonight
Breath it in
In and out
Take a break
Tear it up
Tear us down
Stand up in the tidal wave
Sing songs in the broken place
Because it's not far from here
No we're not far from there
So take heart
Take care
Don't remember to forget
What I've said and what you've seen
Let the silence take your head
And take your dares
Take your dreams
We were fools in the river
Washed away by a song
In the sound of the villages
In the cry of the town
And there's a teardrop on the moon
Up there
I'll hold you
In my heart
But you have to let me
Let me fall apart
Fall away
Out of your arms
'Cause I'm slipping through your fingers
Through your hands
In the dark
But we'll paint in the numbers
Because we're together
In this storm
For a time
And we'll watch it all crumble
In the weather
And the hurricane
And we'll try
Yes we'll try
We'll both do our best
Yes we'll try
We'll both do our best

See? I'm nice. I find ways to sneak pictures in.
'Ey-O friends! I have a very few pictures to share, so I made you a new short video. One of my favorites [1:00] could probably been edited a little further to really be amazing, but aside from that lazy little bit I'm pretty proud of these.
As a bonus (and even though I am a secretive ninja who stays away from the front of the camera lens), I thought I'd throw a snap of me [1:15] from earlier this afternoon. :)

Doooodling
Hi.
So I still haven't posted a vlog, I still haven't written 2,000 words in my most recent novella, I still haven't gathered the pictures together that I need for my digi-art homework on Monday, I sill haven't filmed the music video I've been meaning to create, I still haven't gotten out of my pajamas yet, and I still haven't vacuumed my floor.
Seriously, if you could see me floor right now, you would realize that the last one there totally trumps the others.
Anyway, I need your help. All of you. Here is a question, and I want---nay, need---you to answer it to the very best of your abilities.

What would be your "BEST DAY EVER"?
And furthermore, how would you incorporate it into the Google logo?
I've decided to enter the Doodle 4 Google contest...I have 48 days to draw a one-in-a-million doodle. Game on world! =D
But really, what defines a wonderful time? I have ideas (ohhh yes, don't you know I always have ideas!), but I want yours too. What are creative ways to show somebody what things make you happy and treasure life? What about color schemes---colors evoke emotions, so what colors do you think in when you think happy thoughts?
I need feedback peoples!
Until then, I'm off to doodle and read The Invention of Hugo Cabret, as the google site said that that book is a good example of depicting things in pictures (also because it was one of my most prized Christmas presents ;).

I Grace Thee With My Presence
Good morning. It's a Friday morning. Usually on Friday mornings I'm still asleep at 8:22. But I figured I'd get a head start on procrastinating.
I have a salad bug for you today. *heh* Good luck trying to decode it. That's like trying to make sense of the quadratic formula.
A new day and it's time to shoulder the workload and start plotting the destruction of the world. Sounds fun, but how can I be sure that I don't slip and fall in the end? They talk about green leaving the grass and trees leafing, and I don't know which is which and what to do if either or both happen. You confuse me. That's all. You don't bug me. You don't annoy me. You don't irritate me, mock me, or tease me (...well, maybe you do a little of that). No. You confuse me. I'm easily confused.
So I'll kamikaze my way into the world. Don't listen to the explosions out your window, they're just me learning about life. Didn't I warn you? Did I tell you how I twist things like pretzels and spill spaghetti sauce on seat cushions? I explained beforehand: I am a child of mass chaos, so look out. Whatever I lack in sympathy I'll make up for in sarcasm. It's how I roll, you know?
Actually I guess you kind of do know. Either that or you pretend to. You're good at pretending, if you are pretending at all. You've just about got me fooled. Either way I'm getting ready to believe you, because if you are fooling me and yourself, you're a master at that, and I can respect you for it. Sly is my game. Witty is what I do. And even though I fail at both, I can always satisfy myself with the smug retorts I come up with after I close my eyes and prepare to fall asleep each night.
We were missing the stars. I loved the rain, but in the night, there were pinpoints of bright brilliance to be seen. The galaxies could have been colliding and exploding and going kablooie---and we would have missed it all. So silly how we can only see what is on the surface.
Still, rain walks in the dark are nice too.

That aside, how is life? I understand today is February and a certain few of you may or may not be doing the 100 words in 100 days challenge (from February 1st to March 11). If so, I'll just be standing her with a big banner with the words "YOU CAN TOTALLY DO IT" painted in yellow and red.
By the way, if I were to do a vlog video, would you want me to say anything in particular besides what I may have already planned on saying?
---What? Why ask? Oh...no reason. ^ _^
'Tis all,
K-Minty
